Tools of the MASS team

The MASS team specialises in the mass spectroscopic analysis.

The MASS team has unique ways in the field of separation sciences: 5 GC-MS / Quad; 1 GC-coupled in parallel with a flame ionisation detector (FID), an electron capture detector (ÁECD) and a nitrogen and phosphorus detector (NPD); one systematic chromatograph coupled to a two-dimensional time of flight mass spectrometer (MS-GCxGC / TOF); a patented system of GC-Olfactometry with eight channels for the olfactory evaluation of the chromatographic eluate by eight simultaneous assessments (GC-MS / 8O); a two-dimensional GC "heart-cut" system coupled with a mass spectrometer and a pathway olfactometry and many systems dedicated to the preparation of contaminated or odorous samples (extraction, concentration, purification of volatile compounds or contaminants ). Construction of the new team project also required the adaptation of our premises (2012-2013, work funded by INRA, the region and the ERDF), the acquisition of new equipment (funded by the region and the ANR ), redefining the rules of operation (awareness of chemical safety and radiation protection) and a redeployment of skills available within the group to undertake research in the field of chemical residues.
